Welcome to the 2026 Lightbearers HQ!
Please take some time to read what's going on and look around. Make sure you explore the new kids wing!
SUMMARY: Venture Church Mill Creek is in the final stages of opening our new state-of-the-art Kids Wing in the Fall of 2026. The theme of this exciting new ministry era is LIGHTBEARERS! Matthew 5:14–16 says, “You are the light of the world… let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” We are driven by the conviction that every child is created to be a Lightbearer for Jesus and is invited to shine it everywhere they go. That is why all of our spaces, games, and lessons will carefully and creatively help kids understand what it means to be a Lightbearer through the L.I.G.H.T. values: Loving | Including | Generous | Hope-filled | Team players. It has been a long journey to arrive at this remarkable breakthrough.
NOW: It's time to cross the finish line. We need to make the final push for resources to open this new ministry hub by September. We took a brief break to focus on opening this building, and now it is time to finish what we started. We are determined to raise $500,000 over two years through Kingdom Builders to fully fund this project. We can do that. And we believe we will get most of that done in the first year.

This year - Our Goal is $300,000 to Bring Light to Mill Creek and the Dominican Republic
You read that right -TWO PROJECTS - we are not just building a new Kids Wing in Mill Creek for the kids in our community, we are ALSO supporting a Kids Center in the Dominican Republic by LITERALLY PROVIDING LIGHT in the darkness! This center of hope in a hard place has lost their reliable electricity to provide running water, prepare food, and educate kids. So, we are going to build their house at the same time we build ours!
We love tying this act of faithfulness for the future generation here to generosity for future generations in the Dominican Republic. More than ever, it is our sincere prayer that everyone who calls Venture Church Mill Creek their home, will find some way to participate in this last building campaign. Together we can bring light to the kids in our neighborhood and light to kids who need a boost of hope!

WHY are we doing this?
In a nutshell, we desperately need more space. But this new kids wing does not just provide enough space. It provides a welcoming, quality, intentional teaching ecosystem that kids will love, and parents can appreciate. Every detail, from check-in to the classrooms, reinforces the message that we value kids and are methodically thoughtful about how we are shaping their identity as the LIGHTBEARERS.
We know these are irreplaceable and critically formative years in an increasingly noisy world. That is why we've built a lighthouse where teachers and parents work together to shape healthy kids who know how to live out in the world as LIGHTBEARERS!

WHAT are we doing?
We are finishing the work we began in November 2024!
18 Months ago, we set out to raise the funds we needed to expand this facility. In three short months, we raised what we needed to get started, and construction began right after Easter in 2025. Now, one year later, the building is done, and we are ready to complete this final crowning achievement by fall 2026, just two years after the whole thing started. How cool is that? Two years to complete this amazing accomplishment together!
So, this is the last big push. We are planning to pay for the completion of the kids wing over the next two years, but we would love to get most of it done this year! Please click to support this combined effort. And don’t forget to check out the Dominican Republic Project that we are completing at the same time to build God’s Kingdom and bring light both here in Mill Creek and around the world.

FAQ
- How much will the project cost? This project is hard locked at $450,000. Every effort has been made to ensure we provide an outcome that meets our high standards for our kids while also honoring frugality and the church's resources. Any place we could save money by doing ourselves or scaling back on unnecessary flash, we have done so. What we are investing in is intentional space that shows kids and parents that we value them and are painstakingly dedicated to forming healthy, happy, Jesus-grounded kids.
- What happens if we don't raise the money? Well, then we keep at it until we do. We have the resources in reserves to pay for what is needed. But these are precious resources appropriately held in reserve for the future of the church. We are confident that we will raise what we need in the next two years to pay for this space without debt, and enjoy many years of shaping outstanding young kids!
- Are there more ways to support than money? You bet! We need people who can build, clean, paint, and pray. If you are looking for places to be helpful or have building skills, please let us know. You can email us HERE. If you are looking for other creative ways to support, check out this page or swing by the Kingdom Builders Corner and pick up the 10 Creative Ways to Support the Mission brochure. WHY are we doing this?
About a year and a half ago, Pastors Brandon and Di Beals traveled to the Dominican Republic with Compassion International.
While they were there, they visited a community in the middle of a massive plantation complex where many Haitian families live in extremely difficult conditions. The situation was heartbreaking. Families live with very little freedom, very few resources, and almost no opportunity to change their circumstances. It is modern-day generational slavery. It felt overwhelming and deeply discouraging.
In many ways, the situation felt hopeless.
But amid that environment, Brandon and Di experienced something truly hopeful - on one piece of land that was not owned by the plantation stands an Assemblies of God church and school, partnered with Compassion International!
A bright point of LIGHT in a very difficult environment.
That church and school serve children from the surrounding community, providing education, meals, spiritual care, and a place where those kids are known and loved.
But even that ministry faces a serious obstacle. The plantation has shut off electricity to the property, leaving the church and school dependent on unreliable gas generators to keep basic operations running.
Without reliable power, even simple things become difficult. Running water systems, preparing meals, operating classrooms, and sustaining daily ministry all become more fragile and uncertain.
When Brandon and Di saw this situation, their hearts were broken. They thought:
WELL VENTURE - WE MEAN TO DO SOMETHING!
And we want to do this while we are building our house here. This is not for us. It is not for our kids. It is for these kids who are precious in God's eyes and ours.

- We cannot undo the injustice that exists there.
- We cannot guarantee what the future will hold for every child.
- We cannot solve every problem in that environment, but we can do something.

And we want to do this while we are building our house here. This is not for us. It is not for our kids. It is for these kids who are precious in God's eyes and ours.
WHAT are we doing?
We are working around the plantation to partner with Compassion International to put constant, reliable, and free solar power on that church and school!
By installing a solar power system with battery storage, we can restore reliable electricity to that church and school. That single change will support classrooms, meals for children, water systems, and the daily ministry that brings hope into that community.
It is a practical way to bring the tangible love of Jesus into a place that desperately needs it.
At the same time that we are completing our Kids Wing expansion in Mill Creek, we are also helping bring literal power and light to children in the Dominican Republic.
The project will begin in May and be completed this fall, when we finish the kids' wing in Mill Creek. Venture will be there in May to kick off the project and then receive regular updates from Compassion until we can all celebrate together these dual victories for the Kingdom of Jesus!

FAQ
- How much will this project cost? The total cost of the project is $77,000 for panels, controls, wiring, power storage, delivery, and even air conditioning!
- How are we funding this work? $50,000 will come from this LIGHTBEAERS Project. The remaining $27,000 is funded by your generous Kingdom Builders Giving.
- What happens if we don't raise enough money? We are committed. We are doing this. If we do not raise these funds, then the whole cost will be borne by the Kingdom Builders Fund. This will impact plans and future support, so we believe that we will do this together!
- What percentage of my LIGHTBEARERS Project support will go here? We are committed to both of these projects. The DR Project must be funded this year. We have two years to fund the Kids Wing. So, while we hope to fully fund both this year at $300,000, we are committed to completing this project in the D.R. this year.
